Job Description

Position Description: 

DISCOVERY Children’s Museum seeks a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual to work as part of a summer camp team comprised of Museum educators and teen interns. This position will also serve in Museum gallery spaces when summer camps are not in session. The ideal candidate will have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a safe and structured educational environment for summer camp students.

Learning Experiences Manager 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Interact in a positive and engaging manner with students, parents and colleagues.

  • Support the summer camp classroom experience, including the facilitation of hands-on inquiry-based learning.

  • Assist the lead summer camp teacher in the daily supervision of up to fifteen students ages 6 - 11 and assist in the presentation of interactive and educational demonstrations.

  • Support material preparation for summer camp programming.

  • Assist with detailed cleaning procedures in compliance with the Museum’s current standards.

  • Support Museum floor operations in gallery spaces when summer camps are not in session.

Experience/Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma required.

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in an Elementary Education discipline or related discipline preferred.

  • The ideal candidate will possess a passion for children and learning, and will have experience working with young children in an educational setting. 

 

Seasonal Schedule: May – August 2026 

Monday: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm 

Tuesday: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm 

Wednesday: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm 

Thursday: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm 

Friday: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm 

 

Compensation: 

$13.00/hour
