We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Event Specialist to join our Marketing Team reporting to the Manager, Events. The ideal candidate is a strategic, highly organized, and results-oriented professional who can independently manage the planning, development, execution, and optimization of assigned events including but not limited to Evolus' corporate events, industry conferences, customer engagement programs, and experiential marketing initiatives. This role will be responsible for developing event strategies that support business objectives, managing event budgets, negotiating vendor agreements, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver high-impact experiences that strengthen brand awareness, customer engagement, and commercial performance.

Essential duties and responsibilities where you'll make the biggest impact…
Event Strategy, Planning & Business Operations
- Develop and execute strategic event plans that align with corporate, commercial, and brand objectives
- Participate in the annual planning process for assigned events, conferences, advisory boards, customer engagement programs, and experiential initiatives
- Evaluate event opportunities and make recommendations regarding participation, sponsorship, activation strategies, and resource allocation
- Help establish event goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), and measurement frameworks to assess business impact
- Serve as a strategic advisor to internal stakeholders regarding event strategy, audience engagement, and experience design
- Exercise independent judgment in determining event priorities, timelines, resource allocation, and execution plans
Budget Management & Vendor Negotiation
- Manage assigned budgets within events, forecasts, and reconciliation processes for assigned programs
- Evaluate vendor proposals and independently negotiate contracts, pricing, service agreements, and scopes of work to maximize value and ensure fiscal responsibility
- Recommend budget allocations and investment decisions based on expected business outcomes and performance metrics
- Monitor expenditures and proactively identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies while delivering an Evolus experience
Cross-Functional Leadership & Program Management
- Lead cross-functional event planning efforts for assigned events involving Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, Training, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, and Executive Leadership teams
- Influence stakeholders and drive alignment on event objectives, messaging, attendee experiences, and business outcomes
- Develop project plans, timelines, and communication strategies to ensure successful execution of complex programs
- Provide guidance and direction to external agencies, production partners, and event vendors
Event Experience & Engagement Strategy
- Design attendee engagement strategies that enhance customer experiences and strengthen brand affinity
- Develop recommendations regarding content programming, event formats, experiential activations, and customer journey touchpoints
- Partner with marketing and commercial teams to ensure events support broader omnichannel and customer engagement strategies
- Evaluate emerging event technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continuously improve program effectiveness
Performance Analysis & Optimization
- Analyze event data and communicate insights and recommendations to leadership
- Develop executive-level reports summarizing event ROI, attendee engagement, lead generation, customer retention, and business impact
- Identify trends and opportunities to optimize future events and improve organizational effectiveness
- Establish continuous improvement processes and implement data-driven recommendations
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all events and programs comply with company policies and applicable legal, regulatory, and industry requirements
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Medical, and Regulatory teams to ensure appropriate review and approval processes
- Maintain documentation and operational processes that support compliance and business objectives
Additional Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strategic thinking, business acumen, and a solutions-oriented mindset
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitive activity, and innovations within experiential marketing and events
- Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
Location & Travel
- Office Location – Newport Beach (hybrid onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)
- Up to 25% travel based on business needs
Qualifications and Skills You’ll Bring to the Team…
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Event Management, or equivalent work
- 4+ years of progressive experience in event marketing, experiential marketing, conference management, or strategic event planning
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale events and complex programs with significant budgets
- Experience negotiating vendor contracts and managing agency relationships
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects and competing priorities
- Strong analytical skills with experience measuring program performance and ROI
- Excellent project management, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent business decisions.
- Strong organizational and leadership capabilities with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications…
- Experience within aesthetics, healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, or other regulated industries
- Familiarity with medical/legal/regulatory review processes
- Experience managing national conferences, customer events, tradeshows, and experiential marketing programs
- Experience with event related platforms such as Cvent, Swoogo, Canva, and/or RSVPify
Compensation & Total Rewards
This is an Exempt position. The expected pay range for this position is $95,000 - $115,000. You are eligible for an annual bonus compensation plan, terms and conditions apply. Your actual base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on a number of considerations including but not limited to role-relevant knowledge and skills, experience, education, geographic location, certifications, and more.
