As the Lead Foundation Specialist, you'll play a key role in growing philanthropic support for Touro. Reporting directly to the Director of Philanthropy, you'll help bring fundraising initiatives to life through donor stewardship, event planning, communications, and database management. If you're highly organized, passionate about community impact, and enjoy balancing both strategy and execution, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

Be a Champion for Our Donors

  • Process and record gifts to the Foundation, ensuring donors receive timely and meaningful acknowledgements.
  • Maintain accurate donor and prospect records within the donor management system.
  • Track giving history, prospect activity, and donor engagement opportunities.

Help Drive Philanthropic Success

  • Support direct mail campaigns, fundraising initiatives, marketing efforts, and donor outreach activities.
  • Prepare monthly and annual reports on giving activities and fundraising performance.
  • Assist with grant reporting requirements and foundation documentation.

Create Exceptional Events

  • Plan and coordinate Foundation events from start to finish.
  • Manage invitation lists, mailings, event logistics, and vendor relationships.
  • Help create memorable experiences that engage donors, community members, and hospital supporters.

Keep Operations Running Smoothly

  • Prepare monthly gift reconciliations and Foundation credit card reconciliations.
  • Process invoices and support Foundation program leads with administrative needs.
  • Assist in preparing materials for Foundation Board meetings and ensure meeting minutes are documented and distributed.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a nonprofit organization, preferably within healthcare, education, or a mission-driven environment.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in fundraising, marketing, event management, public relations, or a related field.

What Makes You Successful

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A talent for building relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders, including donors, patients, physicians, volunteers, and hospital leaders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge or a comparable donor management system.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience processing invoices and running reports in Workday or another ERP system is a plus.
