Overview
Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
This position is located at our Milan Ohio facility
Responsibilities
OVERVIEW
Senior Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years experience in pressure systems, heat exchanger and/or other related systems to support wind tunnel test facility refurbishment.
- TYPICAL FUNCTIONS
- Interpret, understand, and create system P&ID’s.
- Specify pipe/fittings by media, flow, pressure/temperature rating.
- Understand & implement code-compliant system design and fabrication methods.
- Evaluate and select instruments, control valves, regulators, pressure safety devices, etc.
- Understand the fluid mechanics of pressurized systems and how different components work and interact.
- Provide on-site engineering/technical support of the fabrication & commissioning phases.
- Update project technical leads with schedule and task information
- Work with technicians to properly install and test hardware
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Experience developing piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID)
- Experience with ASME B31.3 Process Piping, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC), and related National Consensus Codes.
- Experience in design and verification of pressure systems and related hardware. such as pressure vessels, piping systems, heat exchangers
Preferred
- Familiarity with 29 CFR 1926 OSHA Construction Industry Regulations
- Familiarity with aerospace and/or aerospace related facility projects
- Ability to design in Creo or other solid modeling software a plus
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and phone skills.
Ability to hear normal conversation. One eye (minimum) correctable to 20/20.

Office equipment includes computers (basic excel, PC Data processing), calculators, FAX, copier, scanner, printers. Personal transportation vehicle
