Job Description
Key responsibilities and role requirements include:
Assisting on leading complex multi-jurisdictional cross-border M&A transactions
Supports in various aspects of transaction preparation, including conducting legal research, drafting filings, and other related documents such as term sheets and purchase agreements
Assists in developing transactions strategies by analyzing legal issues and contributing to strategy discussions with senior lawyers
Coordinating the various groups working on a project and ensuring that they are all on schedule, understanding and disseminating transactional information
Liaising with clients and stakeholders
Working with local counsels in local and overseas jurisdictions
Drafting and reviewing legal and technical documentation
May co-ordinate work of more junior members of the team
Helps coach and develop more junior lawyers
Admission in Japan
PQE 4 - 8
Experience in Corporate M&A transactions (private and public M&A)
Fluency in Japanese and English is required
Experience in a Japanese firm or international firm required
Strong time management skills, ability to stay calm under pressure when working across multiple projects and transactions
Client service focus and commercial awareness
