Responsibilities:
The Electrical Motor & Transformer Specialist is to act as the Technical Authority for the equipment, ensuring risks to safe operation are recognized, assessed and appropriately mitigated. To increase reliability of both LV/ HV motors & Transformers thus achieving high production and reduce operating costs.
Required skills:
- You have ten (10) years working on rotating equipment;
- You have two (2) years of technical and organizational experience in reliability practices in heavy industries context;
- You have a high precision maintenance skill and a high technical reporting skill;
- Training and developing subordinates to assume positions of greater responsibility in the organization;
- High computer skills including Microsoft Office and CMMS and problem-solving ability;
- Experience and exposure to different complex industrial processes and equipment;
- You have a good communication skill with a good command of French and English (written and spoken);
- Holder of Electromechanical or Electrical Engineering degree.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Be aware of, understand and comply with the Ambatovy Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Policies and associated documentation.
- Provide technical leadership and be a resource in analyzing day to day problems, trouble-shooting of issues, liaising with manufacturer or technical expertise to understand and improve reliability issues that affect plant operations.
- Establish Motor Equipment Maintenance and Reliability Strategies.
- Guide Electrical Superintendent to implement and improve maintenance standards and practices.
- Share experiences, lessons learned & best practices with maintenance/operation teams.
- Audit inspection and repair activities to ensure quality and continuous improvement
- Support the reliability process by being the SME (Subject Matter Expert) on Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) related to Rotating Equipment.
- Participate actively in safety programs.
- In collaboration with Asset Integrity, support the identification of Maintenance Priorities.
- Review Operation and Maintenance of Critical Motor Equipment and provide recommendations to ensure a safe and reliable Operation.
- Support the Defect Elimination Process for all Motor Equipment.
- Work with Engineering to ensure that new designs incorporate features that give consideration to equipment reliability and maintainability, best practices, meets all the prevailing industry and corporate Standards and Guidelines.
- Work in conjunction with Condition Monitoring /Rewind Shop and SCM Preservation teams for continual improvement of motor reliability and preservation techniques.
