Brief Description:

 

Accountant

 

Summary:

The Accountant for AFC Industries will be responsible for handling month-end close, reconciliations, general reporting, and assisting with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable if/when needed. The position will report to the Controller. This is a growing business with great opportunities for career advancement.  Opportunity for Hybrid work schedule after initial training period.

Description:

  • Timely and accurate completion of the month-end close process in accordance with GAAP, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Safeguard assets and ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments.
  • Assist with the annual audit by providing required information and responding to requests from the auditors.
  • Focus on continuous improvement of the accounting processes.
  • Assist with daily/weekly reporting.
  • File sales tax returns as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you need:

Education:

Bachelor's' Degree in Accounting

 

Required Work Experience/skills:

  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant accounting work experience, preferably in a distribution, manufacturing, or another high-volume transaction environment
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask and meet tight deadlines when necessary.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good inter-personal skills and collaborative approach
  • Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

Targeted Salary $60-70K
