POSITION TITLE:            TOSA - School Psychologist,1.0 FTE; Temporary

SITE:                                  Student Services

TARGET START DATE:    August 24, 2026

FLSA:                                Exempt

SALARY:                          Based on licensed salary schedule  *2025-2026 salary schedule (2026-27 salary schedule to be determined.)
                                

POSITION SUMMARY

The School Psychologist Intern TOSA supports comprehensive school psychology services across K�12 settings while completing required internship hours under appropriate supervision. This position provides supervised, hands-on experience in assessment, consultation, counseling, and intervention within both general education and special education contexts.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.
1.    Complete a minimum of 1,200 internship hours during a full K�12 academic school year.
2.    Internship hours must include: 
a.    50 hours with preschool/kindergarten students
b.    100 hours at the elementary level (K�6)
c.    100 hours at the secondary level (6�12)
d.    100 hours in consultation activities
e.    50 hours in counseling services
3.    Maintain a workload where assessment constitutes 20%�40% of total internship activities.
4.    Provide services to students in both general education and special education settings.
5.    Engage in assessment, intervention, consultation, and counseling aligned with school psychology best practices.
6.    Attend the assigned school site Monday through Friday, with a flexible schedule on the designated internship course day to allow for university supervision and coursework.
7.    Participate in required internship supervision, meetings, and professional learning activities.
8.    Communicate clearly with coworkers and other staff. 
9.    Participate as an effective team member. 
10.    Provide impeccable customer service. 
11.    Attends work regularly and is punctual.
12.    Follows and maintains knowledge of all applicable District policies and procedures. 
13.    Annually pass the District's required online training by the District's assigned due-date. 
14.    While working collaboratively with others, implements decisions within ASD established policies and procedures.
15.    Professionally represent the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students and resolves conflict in a professional manner.

SUPERVISORY RESONSIBILITIES

All school employees have some responsibility for supervising students and assisting in maintaining a safe environment. This position supervises athletic coaches, activity advisors, and designated classified staff.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and/or Experience: A minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Master's degree preferred. Previous, successful teaching experience preferred. Experience working with culturally diverse families and communities or otherwise demonstrated commitment to equity and strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with diverse populations.
    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: A valid and current State of Oregon (or reciprocal state) Teaching License (TSPC approved).
    Leadership: Demonstrated commitment to equity and strengthening engagement of diverse student populations. 
    Interpersonal Skills:  Strong verbal and written communication; values and ensures inclusion of all voices. Works well with diverse communities; focuses on resolving conflict; maintaining confidentiality; listening without interrupting; remains calm and open to others in tense or difficult situations. Strong presentation skills and ability to respond effectively to questions in one-on-one, small and large group situations.
    Technology:   General skills and knowledge of computer usage and the ability to learn, understand, and utilize various software systems. Ability to successfully use proprietary web-based reporting systems such as those deployed by the Oregon Department of Education.
    Other Skills and Abilities:  Effectively manage job tasks while working in an environment with frequent interruptions. Create a safe, orderly, positive school climate for students and staff. 
 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with others including understanding and being understood. While much of the work will be completed in an office environment, the employee will need to move between buildings, visiting sites throughout the district. This position requires use of a variety of digital systems, software, and hardware for communication, budgeting, and compliance. This position may require some travel outside the district.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate, but occasionally high depending upon student population and activities.  The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions and outdoor weather conditions.  Employee may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens.
