JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for payroll administration for several related companies with combined staff of approximately 300+ employees. Ensure that processing is accurate, timely, and in compliance with government rules and regulations.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure that weekly employee payroll is processed accurately and timely
• Maintain accurate employee data, including processing labor cost against project codes, calculation of overtime pay, vacation/sick leave accruals, rate changes, personal information changes, transfers, payroll deductions, and direct deposits in compliance with federal/state/local regulations.
• Process weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.
• Serve as point of contact with payroll service representatives.
• Enter new hires and process terminations in payroll system.
• Set up and track garnishment deductions and other special payroll deductions.
• Communicate with Human Resources and Accounting Department to ensure proper flow of employee data.
• Prepare and distribute detailed payroll reports to Accounting for reconciliation.
• Assist in payroll accounting, transactions, reporting, stop payments and other operations.
• Process out of cycle manual payroll checks for involuntary terminations, void/reissues, and/or retroactive payments.
• Respond to garnishment inquiries and various payroll verifications in a timely manner.
• Distributes W-2s for tax purposes
• Maintain and document all payroll records
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns.
• Assist HR with New Hires, I9, E-VERIFY.
• Audit benefit invoices to balance payroll deductions monthly
• Perform clerical/administrative duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum (4) years payroll administration, broad knowledge of office and payroll functions and procedures.
• Understanding of rules and regulations pertaining to full-time, part-time, temporary, Davis Bacon and Service Contract Act employee payroll a plus.
• Exhibits understanding of company benefits such as 401(k)s, insurance, paid leave, and other voluntary deductions.
• Demonstrates understanding of payroll tax documents and preparation processes.
• Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail.
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
• Ability to work well with employees at all levels, effectively presenting policies, procedures, and general information when responding to employee questions and concerns.
• Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality
• Strong computer skills, including mastery of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations and labor laws.
• Dynamic SL, Ceridian Dayforce software experience preferred.
