Development Officer (Children’s Services) 
Waverley Court

Salary: £40,501 - £47,639
Hours: 36 per week

The Children's Services Development Officer will work closely with other Development Officers within the service to provide support to our senior team. Candidates should be focussed, enthusiastic and able to work independently, prioritising work as required to meet deadlines.
The post is hybrid with a minimum of two days working in Waverley Court (postholders may require to attend other Council offices on occasion)

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidates who have a good knowledge of statutory social work services and an ability to think strategically to support development of our assurance activities, working closely with our senior team. The tasks will be varied and will include utilising skills to promote the implementation of the Council’s strategic aims and develop and embed our policies and procedures across Children's Services. Candidates will focus on development and analysing of our performance data and promoting learning which could involve leading and supporting projects.

Candidates should have a good understanding of children's statutory services, together with a working knowledge of relevant legislation. 

Good report writing skills are essential and enthusiasm to champion our priorities and commitments through innovation is key.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection.

This position is subject to Basic Disclosure check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
