The Financial Division oversees all accounting and financial reporting for American Financial Group and Great American Insurance Group.
The Financial Division is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst/Specialist! Great American’s culture is built on connection, shared learning, and strong relationships. To support this, employees in this role are expected to be on‑site four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in‑office days are Tuesday–Thursday, with the fourth day determined by business needs.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Conducts in-depth financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
Develops and maintains complex financial models to forecast future financial performance and assess potential risks and opportunities.
Leads the development of long-term financial plans and annual budgets, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
Regularly updates forecasts to reflect changes in business conditions and market trends and reconciles internal accounts.
Tracks and analyzes key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to evaluate the company's financial health.
Prepares and presents detailed financial reports and dashboards to senior management and stakeholders providing actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
Identifies and assesses financial risks, developing strategies to mitigate potential impacts on the company's financial stability.
Ensures compliance with industry regulations and internal controls.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support for operational and strategic initiatives.
Communicates complex financial information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including non-financial stakeholders.
Drives continuous process improvements and implements best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy and value creation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Experience: Generally, 6 or more years of experience in Financial Analysis or Accounting. Previous experience in the insurance industry preferred. Completion of or continuing progress toward a professional designation preferred, such as Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Scope of Job/Qualifications: Strong proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and forecasting techniques. Advanced proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, financial planning software). Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence tools (CoPilot preferred). Excellent analytical skills with the ability to use data to analyze situations, identify problems, and develop effective solutions. Strong communication and presentation skills. Adapts to evolving business conditions and strategic priorities. Provides technical advice and support to lower-level positions, management, and other departments.
