M&M Industries is a U.S.-based manufacturer of plastic pails and packaging solutions. We operate in a fast-paced injection molding environment where safety, material accuracy, and cleanliness are essential to keeping production running efficiently.
The Material Handler is responsible for maintaining proper materials and colors at assigned injection presses, clearing jams under presses and within conveying systems, and maintaining cleanliness around equipment. This role supports processors during changeovers, assists with grinding production scrap throughout the shift, and helps ensure accurate material handling and inventory tracking. The position also provides training and development opportunities to advance into a future Processor role.
Schedule: A & C Shifts (7AM-7PM) AND B & D Shifts (7PM-7AM) - 2, 2, 3 rotating schedule with every other weekend off.
Key Responsibilities
Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment
Maintain proper material and color levels at each injection press throughout the shift
Support optimized use of regrind and pelletized material; may require use of a manual pallet jack or forklift
Perform color or material changes as directed by work orders
Ensure materials are blended at proper ratios
Remove lids, pails, and scrap from under and around machines and record rejects
Reweigh and label materials after use
Track all material movement using RF scanners to maintain accurate inventory levels
Clear empty gaylords from the production floor; clean excess material and remove old labels
Break down empty gaylords and transport them to designated holding areas
Clear jams under presses and within conveying systems as needed
Maintain a clean and organized work area around assigned presses
Assist processors with changeovers and grind production scrap throughout the shift
Participate in training and development to support advancement into a future Processor role
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Mechanical aptitude
Basic math skills
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Knowledge of Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) preferred
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Licenses & Certifications
Forklift Certification required
Experience
Three (3) or more years of hands-on experience in injection molding preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform lifting, extended standing, and walking throughout the shift
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include hot or cold conditions
Ability to wear required PPE at all times (safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, etc.)
