Job Description

Position Summary

The Human Resources Leadership Development Program Associate will rotate through a series of assignments for about 2 years, each rotation will approximately be 6-9 months in duration. They will take a rotation as an HR Generalist for up to one year with subsequent rotations that may be within the following HR functional areas: HR Operations, Total Rewards (Compensation, Benefits), HRIS, Learning & Development, and Talent Acquisition. There is an expectation of quickly learning, synthesizing, and applying these within each rotation. Initial rotation includes on-the-job learning and performance of assigned functions as a basis towards subsequent strategic and/or project assignments in later rotations.

 

This program is intended to give an HR professional a broad and highly concentrated experience with real responsibility where high performance is expected.

 

This position will report to Healthcare HR in Mentor, OH. 

What You'll Do as an HR Leadership Development Program Associate

Duties and assignments will vary, depending on functional area and project availability and may include the following:

HR Generalist

  • Support the Associate lifecycle including interviewing, onboarding, transfers, position management, and offboarding. 
  • Support assigned business units with workforce planning, performance management, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Support employee relations investigations and ensure thorough documentation and timely follow up actions, while maintaining confidentiality, compliance, and adherence to internal practices. 
  • Analyze HR metrics to identify trends related to retention, engagement, or staffing; support associated counter measure activities.
  • Support execution of talent review and succession planning initiatives. 
  • Support implementation of engagement and change management initiatives within the business unit.

 

Total Rewards 

  • Support working in our STERIS compensation philosophy and ensuring Associates are appropriately rewarded as to retain current talent and attract new talent to STERIS.
  • Support compilation, analysis, and interpretation of data to ensure competitiveness and equity. 
  • Assist with compensation projects including job architecture, design, reorganizations, and hierarchies. 
  • Assist with incentive compensation modeling to support plan design.
  • Assist with incentive plan administration and compliance against incentive plans through audit activities. 
  • Support inquiries and activities related to benefits/leave administration, including case management and status updates. 
  • Learn legal requirements in support of facilitation of leave programs.

 

HRIS

  • Learn system functionality to support HR System administration across assigned modules, including configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and compliance with governance processes. 
  • Assist with end-user support, training, documentation, and issue escalation. 
  • Support system upgrades, releases, and cross-functional initiatives. 

 

Learning & Development 

  • Support coordination of global leadership development programs and the on-demand learning platform. 
  • Support Learning Management System administration. 
  • Assist with logistics, materials, communications, and presentation creation for events. 

 

Talent Acquisition

  • Learn and support search strategies for a diverse range of positions while partnering with Talent Acquisition Partners to develop effective, innovative recruiting approaches. 
  • Support talent pipelines using multiple sourcing tools and cultivating relationships with candidates, while serving as a brand ambassador to create an exceptional candidate experience. 
  • Contribute to technology deployment and process optimization. 


Perform other duties as assigned by Human Resources Management, such as HR projects. 

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field (will consider candidate if within 2 months of receiving Bachelor's degree) 

 

Preferred:

  • Human Resources internship or prior experience

Pay range for this opportunity is $68,637.50 - $72,675. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
