Community Chemotherapy Nurse

Conduct training interaction(s) to ensure patient and/or carer are able to safely self-medicate relevant oncology medications e.g. oral tablets • Provide on-going support to patients through the combination of support programmes to include telephone, clinicbased and home visits as per product and client protocols • Complete line care for all IV oncology patients, ensuring lines are clean and clear • Check blood results and made decisions on whether critical levels are within safe parameters to continue with treatment. Liaise with referring consultants on any concerns around treatment or if patient is too unwell to receive medication • To support field clinical staff to develop knowledge and skills to deliver person centred care in the field of chemotherapy • Deliver education and clinical skills based training in a variety of locations to ensure that all chemotherapy nurses have their competencies completed • Focus upon work based learning; to give hands on mentoring and support to learners in the clinical workplace undergoing their chemotherapy training and new starters to Sciensus • Administer all IV Oncology medications for all patients undergoing IV cancer treatment
