Job Summary

Are you a storyteller? As a communications specialist, you will create content that builds the brand, educates team members, and shares Vermeer’s story with the world. You will develop a deep understanding of the business, how teams work together and how communication can drive impact. The ideal candidate is a curious communicator who can ideate, research, write, edit, promote, measure, and manage content across channels.

What You’ll Do

1. Serve as a functional communications liaison; learn the function well and lead development of communication plans and execution.

2. Understand the organization’s industry, brand characteristics, business strategy, and priorities.

3. Plan, develop and edit compelling content to drive the corporate brand.

4. Adjust communication plans or channels as data and other trends and insights direct.

5. Coordinate details and touchpoints to engage team members in campaigns, events, and activities.

6. Assist in communication channel management.

What We’re Looking For

- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism or related field, or equivalent experience.

- Strong communication, planning, writing, editing and proofreading skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

- Ability to influence without authority, build trusted partnerships and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

- Self-motivated and organized, with strong time management and creative problem-solving skills in deadline-driven environments.

- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications and photo/video capture equipment preferred.

Travel

- Occasional travel is expected of this position.

Work Location

HYBRID: Some of a team member’s day-to-day work may be best done at a location other than a Vermeer campus. Discuss specific arrangements with your manager.
