Position Summary
As an Electrical-Mechanical Assembly and Test Technician, you will be a key member of our manufacturing team supporting the assembly, testing, calibration, and quality control of advanced electronic test equipment and subassemblies. This role bridges electrical and mechanical assembly with production testing, working closely with Engineering, Applications, and Manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality, reliable products.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically curious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment involving PCB assemblies, precision mechanical components, and electronic test systems.
This position is full-time and onsite at our Markham, Ontario headquarters, with working hours from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, with overtime as required. This role supports the Acculogic business within the Electronic Test division of InTest Corporation.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical and mechanical subassemblies, including PCB assemblies, probe modules, and mechanical components
- Perform final product assembly, inspection, and quality control checks
- Conduct board-level and system-level testing of electronic assemblies
- Operate electronic test equipment such as digital multimeters and oscilloscopes
- Perform calibration activities in accordance with defined procedures and maintain traceability records
- Record test and calibration results and maintain accurate documentation
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues at the component, board, and system level
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions under engineering guidance
- Assist with prototyping, design-for-manufacture activities, and production builds
- Maintain accurate production, test, and service records using internal systems and tools
- Track production activities, including PCB and component handling, and support part ordering as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production goals, schedules, and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies
Required Qualifications
- College diploma or degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with electronic assembly and testing in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Experience with PCB-level assembly, inspection, and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, assembly drawings, and work instructions
- Basic knowledge of electronic measurement and test techniques
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency with basic documentation tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with calibration procedures and traceability concepts
- Experience in capital equipment manufacturing or automated test systems
- Exposure to ISO-controlled documentation or quality systems
- Experience in a calibration or service environment
- Experience programming electronic devices (e.g., ASICs or similar components)
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly as part of the assembly process.
- Requires manual dexterity to handle small components and tools, including soldering and crimping.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach as necessary to perform assembly tasks.
- Frequent use of hands for assembly, wiring, and other technical tasks.
- Ability to climb ladders or step stools to access elevated areas as part of the assembly or installation process.
