- Prepare rooms and specialty care areas for patient use.
- Assists in and accompanies patients in transfer and discharge procedures.
- Provides patient care.
- Performs routine treatment procedures.
- Assist nurses/physicians with complicated treatment procedures.
Qualifications
Education
High school education or equivalent GED required.
Requires Nationally Registered EMT Basic
or completion of one clinical semesters of nursing school, or completion of a Combat Lifesaver or similar course, or equivalent relative ER experience.
Experience
Experience preferred with the completion of an Nationally Registered EMT, Advanced or Paramedic. Current experience in phlebotomy, arrhythmia recognition, and 12 lead EKG is preferred. Hospital experience preferred. Relative ER or Military experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment. Prefer one or all of the following certifications: EMT Basic/Advanced/Paramedic Certification or Combat/Military medic training or one year of nursing school. Completion of MANDT relational course required within 6 months of hire. Completion of MANDT technical course preferred.
