Job Description

Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse – Theatres
The Harborne Hospital, Birmingham
Permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays, early and late shifts
Competitive salary plus allowances
We’re looking for a Cath Lab Nurse to join our Theatre team at The Harborne Hospital. You’ll be part of a service that is still growing, in a hospital designed from the ground up to support complex, modern care. Opened in 2024, The Harborne Hospital brings together advanced technology, specialist teams and a genuinely collaborative way of working, all within a purpose-built environment focused on improving patient outcomes and experience.
As HCA Healthcare UK’s flagship hospital in the Midlands, The Harborne Hospital offers a unique setting. Located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham campus, the £100 million facility includes 50 inpatient beds, a Level 3 intensive care unit, advanced imaging and four theatres, including a dedicated hybrid theatre. Every part of the hospital has been designed to support minimally invasive techniques, faster recovery and truly joined-up care across cardiac, cancer, orthopaedic and complex surgical pathways.
As a Cath Lab Nurse in the hybrid theatre, you’ll be part of a team delivering interventional cardiology procedures within a highly specialised environment. Working closely with experienced consultants and multidisciplinary colleagues, you’ll support both diagnostic and interventional cases, ensuring patients feel safe, informed and cared for throughout their journey. You’ll rotate between scrub and circulating duties, contribute to the smooth running of the lab, and build your experience in a setting that encourages learning and development. With a growing service and access to modern technology, this is a role where you can deepen your expertise and develop your career in cardiac care.
At HCA UK we care about what you care about. We care that you want to deliver the very best care. We care that you want a career you can be proud of. We care that you want working conditions that support your health and wellbeing. Let us care for you and your career, the same way you do for others.
What you’ll do:
  • Deliver safe, high quality care across interventional cardiology and hybrid theatre procedures
  • Scrub and circulate, supporting consultants during diagnostic and interventional cases
  • Monitor patients throughout procedures and escalate any changes appropriately
  • Support the day to day running of the Cath Lab, including equipment and stock management
  • Contribute to maintaining high standards and continuous improvement within the team

What you’ll bring:
  • Registered Nurse or ODP with current NMC or HCPC registration
  • Experience within a Cath Lab or interventional cardiology setting, or a strong interest in developing in this area
  • Understanding of cardiac procedures and patient pathways
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary theatre environment
  • Clear communication skills and a proactive, team focused approach
