Job Description

Oracle PBCS Consultant with 7+ years of end-to-end implementation and support experience across planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting. The ideal candidate will design and build PBCS models, lead client workshops, integrate PBCS with ERP/HR systems, and deliver reliable planning solutions with robust data governance and performance tuning.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Delivery

  • Lead requirement workshops and translate financial planning needs into scalable PBCS/EPM Cloud solutions.
  • Design and build Planning models (Workforce, CapEx, OpEx, Revenue, Project Planning) using EPMA/Standard Planning, Data Forms, Smart Lists, and Business Rules.
  • Develop Calculation Manager rules (Groovy/Business Rules) and driver-based models for scenario, version, and year planning.
  • Configure Task Lists, Approvals (Workflow), Validations, and Security (roles, provisioning).

Data & Integration

  • Design and manage data integrations using Data Management, Connections, and Oracle EPM Integration Agent; build ETL mappings from ERP/GL/HR systems (e.g., Oracle Fusion ERP, EBS, SAP).
  • Orchestrate data loads (files, APIs), validate data quality, and monitor integration jobs.
  • Implement dimension management (hierarchies), metadata updates, and substitution variables.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop executive-ready reports in Oracle Reports, Dashboards, Infolets, and Smart View (Excel/Office).
  • Build variance analyses, driver-based KPIs, and board-level reporting packs.
  • Enable ad-hoc analysis and self-service reporting for Finance users.

Governance, Performance & Support

  • Establish design standards, documentation, and testing cycles (SIT, UAT).
  • Optimize performance (rule tuning, form design, caching), troubleshoot issues, and drive root-cause analysis.
  • Provide hypercare, user training, and ongoing support; manage enhancements via change control.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with Finance, FP&A, and IT teams; run demos and user training.
  • Manage delivery scope, risks, and timelines; contribute to effort estimation and project planning.

Required Qualifications

 

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle PBCS / EPM Cloud Planning (at least 2 full-cycle implementations).
  • Strong expertise with:

o Planning Artifacts: Forms, Rules (Groovy/Calc Manager), Approvals, Validations, Smart Lists, Sub Vars.

o Data Management/Integrations: Mappings, Load Rules, Drill-through, Integration Agent.

o Reporting: Smart View, Dashboards, and Financial Data modeling.

  • Solid understanding of FP&A processes: Annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, rolling forecast, scenario modeling, allocations, intercompany eliminations, currency translations.
  • Proficiency in SQL/CSV data handling, and performance tuning within PBCS.
  • Experience with requirements gathering, solution design, and conducting UAT/training.
  • Excellent communication skills and client-facing experience.

Nice-to-Have Skills

 

  • Groovy scripting for advanced business rules.
  • Integration exposure to Oracle Fusion ERP/EBS/SAP (GL, Projects, HR).
  • Knowledge of REST APIs for EPM Cloud automation.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery and DevOps practices for EPM deployments.
  • Experience with Workforce/Project Planning prebuilt modules.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s in finance/accounting/information systems/computer science.
  • Preferred: Oracle EPM Cloud certifications (Planning) or equivalent.

Tools & Technologies

  • Oracle EPM Cloud (PBCS/EPBCS), Calculation Manager, Groovy.
  • Smart View (Excel plugin), Data Management, Integration Agent.
  • SQL/Excel, REST APIs, Jira/Confluence, MS Teams.
