Job Description

RINA is currently recruiting for a Singapore Open Innovation Hub Specialist to join its office in Singapore within the Open Innovation Hubs Division.​

Mission

The Regional Open Hub Innovation Specialist focuses on enabling and delivering regional innovation programmes focused on the marine and maritime sectors within the Open Innovation Hub framework, through the scouting, development, and coordination of projects that align with RINA’s global innovation strategy and business needs.

Key Accountabilities

Program Execution & Project Coordination:
 - Execute and support regional innovation initiatives in line with the roadmap defined by the Regional Innovation Hub Director and Global Strategy & Innovation, with a particular focus on marine / maritime innovation themes.
 - Coordinate proof-of-concepts, pilot projects, and collaborative R&D initiatives with startups, academia, and internal stakeholders.
 - Monitor project progress, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and compliance with KPIs.
Ecosystem Engagement & Innovation Scouting:
 - Scout innovative technologies, startups, research institutions, and new trends relevant to business unit priorities.
 - Contribute to the evaluation of opportunities (e.g., TRL, value proposition, scalability) and support the selection of external partners.
 - Represent the hub in operational engagements with incubators, accelerators, and universities.
Internal Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer:
 - Act as the regional contact point for innovation activities, facilitating knowledge transfer between global innovation teams and local marine / maritime business units.
 - Support the adoption and dissemination of innovation methodologies (e.g., design thinking, lean startup, etc.) across internal teams.
 - Contribute to internal events, workshops, and capability building initiatives promoted by the Hub.
Data, Reporting & Operational Support:
 - Ensure structured tracking of innovation activities and provide data and reports to support decision-making and strategic alignment.
 - Collect feedback, impact assessments, and lessons learned from innovation projects.
 - Collaborate in the definition and continuous improvement of innovation processes and tools.

Education

Master’s Degree in Engineering General or Business Administration Finance Management

Qualifications

 - 5+ years in innovation-related roles (e.g., corporate innovation, R&D, technology scouting, open innovation, startup ecosystem) within or closely linked to the marine / maritime sector.
 - Experience in managing cross-functional projects or collaboration with external stakeholders (e.g., research centers, incubators).
Skills & Competencies:
 - Strong project management and coordination skills.
 - Knowledge of innovation frameworks and methodologies (TRL, design thinking, lean startup).
 - Ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders, both internal and external.
 - Proactive mindset, analytical thinking, and structured problem-solving approach.
 - Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.
