As a Labourer, you will work outdoors in all weather conditions in collaboration and as a team with crew members to complete field projects from pipeline maintenance to providing exceptional customer service to the communities we serve. This technical role is at the forefront of innovation and fosters growth with an opportunity to adapt, learn, and develop.
Responsibilities/Job Description:
Perform manual labour on pipeline and maintenance repairs in the Operations department.
Work in a crew to complete field related projects or tasks.
Perform duties in compliance with company and legislation policies, procedures and health & safety regulations.
Able to respond to emergencies after hours and be available for Standby and On-call rotation.
Completion of labourer training and on the job experience is required prior to being eligible to commence standby labourer rotation.
When required, must be flexible to work overtime.
Perform other duties within the employee's abilities, as assigned.
Qualifications:
A minimum secondary school education or equivalent (i.e. GED).
Physically capable of performing manual labour associated with pipeline construction and buried gas plant maintenance.
A good driving record with a valid class 'DZ' driver's license is preferred.
3 to 5 years’ experience in a comparable role preferred.
Sound knowledge of operations procedures, related codes, laws and regulations.
Able to work in a team environment with good interpersonal, communication and mechanical reasoning skills and have the flexibility to work shifts, as required.
NOTE: As this position is within the Local Bargaining Unit identified above, please note that members will be given first consideration.
