
Engineering Manager - Life Safety (Fire)
Job Description
What you’ll do:
Leading/Managing the Fire, Intrusion and Notification R&D specialist team, comprising of Fire Devices and Systems product architects and regulatory specialists across all locations
• Leading/Managing the Fire, Intrusion and Notification R&D specialist team, comprising of Fire Devices and Systems product architects and regulatory specialists across all locations (Cwmbran, Riom, Longbranch, Sarasota, Mitcheldean, Doncaster) of Life Safety.
• Responsible for defining and deploying product line technology roadmaps in alignment with product line strategy and product roadmaps
• Working closely with product management, business development and commercial teams to ensure market and customer alignment
• Consulting common engineering teams [Life safety common engineering teams, Eaton CoEs, extended engineering teams at Pune and Prague) on product line specific requirements, customer feedback, and product enhancements
• Review all projects to ensure products are designed in accordance with customer and market requirements as well as within target cost to achieve budget and profit plan
• Accountable to ensure sustenance of existing products to keep a competitive position
• Responsible to define the VAVE pipeline for the product line to ensure cost competitiveness of the product line
• Working closely with project managers to keep a close watch on timelines committed to market
• Driving fair project prioritisation to ensure resources are well balanced across product lines of Life Safety
• Ensure current and future conformity of the Fire, Intrusion and Notification portfolio with relevant regulations, standards, norms and legislation
• Work closely with testing and qualification teams to assure quality of products
• Foster the culture of innovation and publication with point of view
• Ensure compliance with cyber security and environmental requirements
• Responsible for IP protection related to Fire product line
• Supervise (dotted) engineering teams present within the same site
• Establish and maintain an active and effective collaboration with other engineering leaders within Life Safety and within EATON.
• Update and review regularly the resource allocation to the product line specific projects
• Encourage the teams to follow common processes of product development/Prolaunch across all developments
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or master’s degree of Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of experience,Multi site engineering leadership experience in a global matrixed organisation

- Deep domain knowledge around Fire Detection/Intrusion
- Excellent organizational skills , attention to details, ability to organize and prioritize the work , ability to work in team , to work under preasure
