Wellfound is hiring Per Diem Security for our night/day position. This a 12 hour shift. Must be available several days during the week and weekends.
Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital is a 120-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital located in Tacoma, Washington. We are Department of Health and Joint Commission accredited. We are an acute care psychiatric hospital providing care to both voluntary and involuntary patients.
Position information:
Our Security Officers will provide a safe and secure environment for the patients, visitors, staff and property of Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital. Our staff will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work with diverse populations and able to handle demanding and stressful situations. This position requires officers be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and participate in de-escalation with the guidance of clinical staff.
Essential Job Functions:

• Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently• Respond to calls for assistants or emergency codes in a timely and prudent manner.
• Under the guidance of clinical staff, assist in de-escalation
• Complete all required documentation in a timely, accurate and thorough manner
• Able to stand and walk for long durations of time
• Patrol exterior of the facility and provide interior security support, including lobby entrance, walk-in entrance, and inpatient units
• Monitor fire alarms
• Assist with emergency drills
• Escort staff to their vehicles after hours
• Escort contractors throughout the hospital as needed
• Ability to work independently
• Assist with patient belonging process, including but not limited to monitoring hospital safes, maintaining safe logs, and assisting staff with adding and/or removing items from the safe.
Minimum Qualification/Requirements:
Education:
• High School or equivalent
Certification:
• Heart Saver or Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Work Experience:
• One year security experience working in healthcare setting preferred. Mental Health Tech or other behavioral health experience will be considered in lieu of security experience.
Preferred Qualifications/Requirements:
• One year security experience working in psychiatric setting
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• HIPAA
Conditions of Employment:
• Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check and a post offer drug screen.
• Must be employment eligible as verified by the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the Government Services Administration (GSA).

We offer competitive pay and benefits:
- Hourly: $21.29-$30.91 + 15% per diem
- Shift Differentials: Nights $2.00/ Weekends $1.25

- You will accrue Paid Sick and Safe Leave at 1 hour per 40 hours worked. Paid Sick leave cannot be used until 90 days after your hire date.
