We are looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer / Functional Owner to join our Radar Engineering team in Prague and take end-to-end ownership of key radar sensing functionalities for next-generation ADAS solutions.
This role is ideal for a senior candidate with strong experience in automotive radar systems, solid understanding of radar fundamentals, and hands-on exposure to Radar Blockage Detection or sensor degradation detection functions.
As part of our Radar competence center, you will drive the development of advanced radar functionalities from concept definition through validation and industrialization, contributing directly to the future of intelligent and autonomous mobility.
Key Activities
Own the full lifecycle of assigned radar functionalities
Define and develop system-level radar requirements and functional concepts
Lead development of Radar Blockage Detection functions for detecting sensor obstruction caused by environmental conditions
Apply strong understanding of radar fundamentals, including signal propagation, reflection behavior, Doppler processing, and performance analysis
Analyze radar performance degradation and design robust detection strategies
Collaborate closely with software, mechatronics, system validation
Drive technical decisions and proactively identify and escalate technical blockers
Support testing, validation, data analysis, and performance reporting
Create and maintain technical documentation and design specifications
Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering methodologies and processes
Requirements
Master’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing, or related technical field
Several years of experience in automotive system engineering
Strong hands-on experience with radar systems
Solid knowledge of radar fundamentals and sensing principles
Experience with system-level functional development and technical ownership
Experience with Radar Blockage Detection / sensor degradation detection is highly preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proactive mindset with high level of accountability
Experience working in cross-functional international engineering environments
Professional level of English
Nice to have:
ADAS / autonomous driving experience
Knowledge of ISO 26262 / ASPICE
Experience with validation methodologies and requirement engineering
