Preferred Experience Must have completed and hold a national phlebotomy certification with at least 4 years of phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting

Job Summary

The Lab Tech 3 performs phlebotomy, processing, testing, and provides clerical support. Collect other specimens as needed. Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other personnel.

Essential Functions of the Role

Conducts advanced laboratory procedures where the range of possible errors is limited.
Sorts, labels, and records patient specimens. Sets up specimen, material, and equipment in preparation for Medical Technologist to perform tests.
Operates centrifuge, simplex timers, cell washer, and other laboratory equipment in completing assigned duties.
Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
Maintains effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.
