POSITION: Museum Exhibit Guide
DEPARTMENT: LAN Gaming & Esports
REPORTS TO: LAN Gaming Manager & LAN Center Supervisor
FLSA STATUS: Part time, Non-exempt
SUMMARY
- Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a part time position with Legends Global at the Boeing Center at Tech Port. Under the supervision of the LAN Gaming Manager, LAN Center Supervisor and Port San Antonio representatives, the museum exhibit guide will be a front-line ambassador for representing Boeing & Legends Global as a tour guide for the Boeing Aerospace Adventure exhibit within the San Antonio Museum for Science and Technology.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct facility tours for clients, students, and prospective partners daily
• Works with staff to develop and maintain a service-oriented attitude
• Maintain processes and policies for exhibit operations
• Showcase technical proficiency with sponsored exhibit experiences
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and log any flight sim issues
• Management of all operational equipment related to sponsored exhibit
• Effectively communicate the story of the exhibit within the overall message of Area 21
• Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- One year of museum exhibit experience
- Basic knowledge of aerospace and airplanes preferred
- Intermediate level of understanding computers, simulators, and related IT equipment
- Experience with customer service and guest relations
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively and professionally under pressure while sustaining a high level of attention to detail
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work well with educators, business leaders, students and guests of all ages
- Strategic and critical thinker who is dynamic, forward-thinking, analytical, and extremely well organized
- Excellent service & communication skills, bilingual speaking preferred but not required
- Willingness to work the hours required to fulfill the commitments of the role which include after-hours and weekend special events
- Must pass background check
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Ability to stand and walk for entire length of shift
• Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 60 pounds and place items on high and low shelves
• Ability to get under desks and counters to adjust wiring/move equipment
• Occasionally required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at waist, bending and squatting
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to
stand for long hours during events; talk and hear. This position may require work inside or outside of the
building, as needed by events.
