Job description
The Team
We’re looking for a CTO (Configure-To-Order) Engineer with strong experience in enterprise storage systems, hardware configuration, and infrastructure support within a fast-paced data center and integration environment. The CTO Engineer is responsible for assembling, configuring, testing, and validating Hitachi Vantara solutions to ensure systems are delivered according to customer requirements and quality standards. The role also plays a key part in troubleshooting, inventory management, RMA coordination, and supporting infrastructure integration activities across storage and networking environments.
The Role
Assemble and configure Hitachi Vantara storage systems and servers based on customer requirements.
Perform system-level testing and validation to ensure quality, stability, and compliance with specifications.
Provide functional and technical troubleshooting support for hardware and software-related issues across supported platforms.
Administer and support Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) environments.
Configure, maintain, and support third-party network switches including Cisco and Extreme Networks integrated with Hitachi Vantara solutions.
Support license key generation, activation, validation, and deployment activities.
Handle RMA (Return Material Authorization) processes including evaluation, tracking, coordination, and processing of defective components.
Maintain accurate lab inventory records including tracking, organization, and upkeep of systems, spare parts, and related equipment.
Support system upgrades, firmware updates, and hardware replacement activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Logistics, Quality, and Customer Support to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with operational procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines during all configuration and testing activities.
Provide support during critical deployment, integration, and post-deployment activities as required.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, quality, and turnaround time.
What You’ll Bring
5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise storage, server configuration, or data center operations.
Experience working with Hitachi Vantara storage systems or equivalent enterprise storage platforms.
Strong understanding of SAN and NAS technologies, storage concepts, and infrastructure environments.
Knowledge of network switch configuration and support, preferably Cisco and Extreme Networks.
Experience troubleshooting hardware, firmware, and system-level issues in enterprise environments.
Familiarity with RMA handling, inventory management, and asset tracking processes.
Ability to follow technical procedures, build documentation, and quality control standards.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced operational environment.
Good communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Experience supporting system integration, testing, or deployment activities is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of Linux, Windows Server, or virtualization environments is preferred.
Exposure to scripting, automation, or infrastructure management tools is an added advantage.
