Project Manager IT – NSW Trustee and Guardian 

  • Temporary full-time vacancy (12 months). 35 hours per week.
  • Location: Sydney CBD.  Flexible and hybrid working options available.
  • Clerk Grade: 9/10.  Salary $129,464 to $142,665 plus super and annual leave loading.

The agency supports the NSW Trustee, the Public Guardian and the Commissioner of Dormant Funds to carry out their statutory functions. We do this by providing a range of customer-centred services, including Will-making, trustee, financial management and guardianship services, including some for the state’s most vulnerable people.

The Information and Technology team delivers secure, modern, and efficient digital services by maintaining robust technological infrastructure, developing and supporting critical business applications, and leading strategic technology initiatives aligned with the organisation’s objectives.  

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Information and Technology team at NSW Trustee and Guardian and lead the delivery of high-impact IT projects that support critical services to the community. 

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing complex projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to organisational strategy and priorities. You will work closely with stakeholders across the agency to drive improvements in service delivery to our customers, while contributing to stronger project management practices and continuous improvement. 

In this role, you will: 

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex ICT projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, and dependencies to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain key project artefacts including business cases, project plans, status reporting, benefits realisation plans, and RAID registers to support strong governance and decision-making.
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to drive alignment, manage expectations, and resolve issues across both technology and business domains.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively manage risks, issues, and changes to minimise impacts and keep delivery on track.
  • Provide clear, timely reporting and advice to senior stakeholders on progress, risks, and implementation challenges.
  • Support and guide project team members, ensuring effective coordination, delivery of activities, and adherence to plans.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management methodologies, tools, and practices across the organisation.

About you 

  • You bring proven experience delivering complex ICT or digital projects, with business transformation or operational project experience desirable but not essential.
  • You have a strong understanding of ICT project management methodologies and can apply them effectively in dynamic and evolving environments.
  • You are a confident communicator who can engage, influence, and negotiate with a broad range of stakeholders across both technical and business teams.
  • You are proactive and solutions-focused, able to manage competing priorities, navigate challenges, and drive successful outcomes.
