The Center for Embedded and Cyber-Physical Systems (CECS) at the University of California, Irvine is a multidisciplinary research center within the Henry Samueli School of Engineering that advances cutting-edge research and education in embedded systems and cyber-physical technologies. CECS brings together faculty, students, and researchers across multiple disciplines to address complex, real-world challenges in areas such as robotics, smart systems, wireless communications, medical devices, transportation, energy systems, and intelligent infrastructure. The Center is focused on innovation and collaboration that bridges hardware and software systems to improve everyday life and support emerging technologies that impact industry, government, and society. Your Role on the Team This position provides professional student services support for the MECPS graduate program, serving as an initial point of contact for prospective and current students. The role encompasses a wide range of student services functions, including student academic support, recruitment and admissions, student engagement, event coordination, instructional logistics, and general program administration. Responsibilities include providing information and assistance related to academic degree requirements, admissions processes, student resources, immigration and visa-related procedures, and university policies and procedures. The position also assists with outreach and recruitment activities, including organizing and participating in student recruitment efforts, updating website and social media content. In collaboration with campus partners and senior staff, the role assists with events, meetings, and activities, as well as routine administrative operations to help ensure effective program support and student success. Ability to multi-task; verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations. Basic knowledge of student immigration and visa processes pertaining to international students and scholars. Ability in problem identification and reasoning. Skills in service orientation, organization, active listening, and critical thinking. Knowledge of University processes and procedures. Understanding of University rules and regulations.
