Sterile Processing Educator III
Full-time - Day shift 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM | Monday - Friday
Location: ChristianaCare Wilmington Hospital- Sterile Processing Dept.
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to serve as the Education Coordinator III for our Sterile Processing Department. In this critical role, you will lead the development and delivery of comprehensive training programs, ensuring technicians are highly skilled in instrumentation identification, surgical application, decontamination, sterilization, and case cart assembly.
You will play a key role in elevating team performance by assessing competencies, reinforcing best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence. This position is instrumental in promoting patient safety and operational efficiency through ongoing education, quality assurance monitoring, and strict adherence to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
Conducts initial and on-going assessment of individual technician skill level with assistance from the Supervisor.
Identifies the need of further education of the Sterile Processing staff by conducting inservices.
Assists in the Certification of the Sterile Processing Staff. This person will be the educator of Certification classes.
Demonstrates knowledge of various sterilization processes and acceptable parameters
Checks biological, chemical, and mechanical indicators as necessary.
Demonstrates professional responsibility:
Serves as liaison between Sterile Processing and Organizational Educators to improve physician/nurse/ tech and MA quality of service.
Assists in the development of capital and operating budgets to facilitate improved services to Sterile Processing.
Preceptor and support for new hire along with supervisor assistance.
Assists Infection Prevention with rounding and reporting of findings related to Joint Commission compliance
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports issues to supervisor and manager in a timely manner any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients, and visitors.
Performs other duties as required such as lead/coordinate flow within the unit under direction of the Unit Manager when needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
Five years Sterile Processing or Operating Room experience and CRCST, CSPDT, CST, CER, CIR, CHL required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Hourly Pay Range: $25.52 - $38.28This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
