Job Description

Summary

The Night Sanitor position performs the sanitization of production rooms and machinery under the supervision and direction of the Night Sanitation Supervisor.

 

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Performs the sanitation of various productions rooms and equipment

  2. Maintains the cleanliness of drains and grease traps

  3. Removes trash from the plant and cleans trash containers

  4. Performs the sanitation of walk-through floor areas, rubber boots and plastic dividers as needed

  5. Sweeps and mops restrooms, break room and other non-production areas

  6. Prepares chemical cleaner according to written and verbal instructions

  7. Replaces stock of beard guards and hair nets in all stations

  8. Must be able to stand between 2 – 3 hours at a time

  9. Must be willing to follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) of the company which include but are not limited to: use of a hair net, use of gloves, use of a company approved frock and rubber boots, no jewelry, no nail polish or artificial nails, no shorts, no open-toed shoes, no ripped clothing or rhinestones/glitter on clothing, no chewing gum, candy or tobacco.

 

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to extreme temperatures (under 40 degree or above 100 degrees Fahrenheit). The employee is also exposed to a variety of chemicals used for cleaning. The floors in the environment are often wet and can be slippery.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

 

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds 

The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Frequent use/motion of hands, wrists and arms are required

The employee is often required to stoop, kneel, crouch or bend 

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. 40+ hours per week.

Hours of work: Typically Monday through Friday from 9:00 pm to 6:00am. Start and finish times may vary depending on workload. Weekends and overtime hours are often required. Schedule is subject to change with or without advanced notice.

 

 

Required Education and Experience

None 

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or GED.

  2. Previous experience cleaning/sanitizing in a manufacturing environment
