We are currently accepting applications to our Graduate Nurse Residencies for Fall/Winter 2026 Graduate Nurses. The application is open to students who are graduating now to December 2026. If you have already graduated, you can still apply and be added to our wait list for available positions for Spring/Summer graduates.

Specialty Residencies

As an organization, we are committed to supporting professional growth and development. While Specialty Residency positions are currently limited to internal colleagues, we encourage you to join one of our General Residency units to build a strong clinical foundation and pursue specialty opportunities after as little as one year.

  • Behavioral Health

  • Trauma General Surgery (Inpatient)

  • Tele

  • Ortho Joint Spine Trauma

  • Ortho Med/Surg

  • Medical Oncology

  • Trauma Med/Surg

  • Float Pool (Inpatient Clinical Support Unit)

Things You Should Know 

Our residency programs have a few requirements that must be met prior to starting: 

  • Must have a Nursing Degree (ADN, BSN, MSN).

  • An Idaho RN license (some units require secondary licensure in the state of Oregon).

  • Multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days from hire.

  • An active and unexpired Basic Life Support for HealthCare Provider (BLS/HCP) certification from either AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network. 

  • Additional certification may be required depending on the unit.

Recommendations:

Make sure your resume is up to date and thorough in describing any applicable experience and education - particularly your clinical rotations! Please include all non-medical jobs too! Anything that highlights customer service, multi-tasking, critical thinking, independent judgement, leadership, etc - all these things apply to nursing!

In your cover letter, please include the following:

  • Why you want to start your nursing career at Saint Alphonsus?
