Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The postdoctoral fellow will conduct, report and present research in his/her field of study under the supervision of a faculty mentor. This is a training position, and is not expected to be a permanent position.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Will work on the continuation of NIH funded projects in Dr. Kayed's lab.
  • Will test leading small molecules that are effective against toxic tau oligomer in primary neuronal culture and animal models for Alzheimer's disease
  • Will also test molecules for their potential as imaging reagents in animal human tissues
  • Prepares the figures and writ up the results for publication

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD, MD or Doctoral equivalent in any field. Scientific research experience.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Mouse surgical procedure
  • Production of recombinant proteins
  • Previous research experience with tau oligomers

 

SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.
