Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in related field, Certification or eligible for Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, and Licensure or eligible for Speech Pathology License from the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

 

 

Job Summary:

To provide professional skills in the comprehensive evaluation of patients with speech and language impairments, and to provide habilitative and rehabilitative treatment services.



Job Duties:

  • Administers and interprets routine and complex tests on adults with speech and language and cognitively impaired patients
  • Plans, conducts, and directs rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communication, voice, cognition and swallowing disorders
  • Documents findings, rehabilitative techniques, plan of care and patient progress in electronic medical record
  • Instructs and demonstrates testing procedures and treatments to medical students and residents
  • Senior level staff may also supervises clinical work of support personnel, graduate students and clinical fellows

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Texas Speech Pathology License, Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • English - bilingual Spanish is helpful, but not required
  • Prior experience in adult outpatient care and medically related clinic.
  • Experience with adult neurogenic population and swallowing disorders

 

 

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience.
