Position:                Student Tutor Center Coordinator; Temporary
Work Site:              Ashland High School 
Salary:                   $1,896 - $2,844 (2025-26 Salary Schedule; 2026-27 Salary Schedule to be determined)
 
JOB SUMMARY
The Student Tutor Center Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the Student Tutor Center, ensuring students receive high-quality academic support services that promote achievement, engagement, and academic success. The coordinator recruits, trains, schedules, and supervises tutors while collaborating with teachers, administrators, and staff to identify student needs and implement effective tutoring programs. This position fosters an inclusive, welcoming learning environment that supports diverse learners and encourages academic growth.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Coordinate and manage the daily operations of the Student Tutor Center.
  2. Identify and recruit potential tutor candidates in collaboration with teachers and staff, particularly in core academic areas.
  3. Distribute, collect, review, and process tutor applications and selection materials.
  4. Coordinate onboarding processes for tutors, including employment paperwork, scheduling, and orientation meetings.
  5. Establish and maintain tutoring assignments and semester schedules.
  6. Match tutors with students based on academic needs and learning goals.
  7. Monitor tutoring effectiveness and student progress through data collection and program evaluation.
  8. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify students who may benefit from tutoring services.
  9. Develop and maintain tutoring procedures, guidelines, and best practices.
  10. Serve as a liaison between the Student Tutor Center, Grizz Academy staff, district payroll personnel, students, families, and tutors.
  11. Supervise tutoring sessions by supporting tutor-student pairings and assisting with academic support processes.
  12. Monitor and approve tutor timesheets and monthly hour submissions through district systems such as Frontline.
  13. Provide ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities for tutors.
  14. Create a welcoming, organized, and student-centered learning environment.
  15. Maintain records related to tutor participation, student attendance, and program outcomes.
  16. Assist students with study skills, organization, and academic success strategies.
  17. Publicize Student Tutor Center services through school announcements, staff meetings, flyers, open house events, and outreach activities.
  18. Respond to parent and student inquiries regarding tutoring services and private tutoring opportunities.
  19. Coordinate academic support events, workshops, and enrichment opportunities.
  20. Monitor program resources, materials, and supplies.
  21. Ensure compliance with district policies, confidentiality requirements, and student safety procedures.
  22. Prepare reports and recommendations regarding program effectiveness.
  23. Attends work regularly and is punctual.
  24. Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
  25. Annually pass the District's required online training by the District's assigned due-date.
  26. Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Previous tutoring or academic intervention experience.
  2. Experience working with diverse student populations.
  3. Bilingual or multilingual communication skills preferred.
  4. Familiarity with educational technology platforms and tutoring management systems.


Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in education, Counseling, Academic Support Services, or a related field preferred.
  2. Experience working with students in an educational setting.
  3. Experience coordinating programs, tutoring services, or academic support initiatives preferred.
  4. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to supervise, mentor, and support tutors.
  6. Knowledge of instructional strategies and student learning practices.
  7. Ability to analyze data and evaluate program effectiveness.
  8. Proficiency with computer software and student information systems.
  9. Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, teachers, and staff.
