Job Description
- Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a variety of agreements, such as NDAs, vendor, lease, marketing, recruitment, loan, employment, IP licensing contracts, and data protection agreements
- Provide strategic legal advice to stakeholders, ensuring regulatory compliance with the company’s business objectives
- Update contract templates as necessary
- Develop and implement procedures for contract retention, management and administration; including the use of Onit
- Assist with beginning to end process for legal matters (sometimes includes assisting with approvals or signatures/electronic or wet signatures)
- Responsible for all corporate governance and corporate secretarial matters
- Ensure compliance with company's standard contracts and other corporate policies
- Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders and liaise with our APAC and global HQ legal teams to ensure common standards and practices on contracts
- Manage and resolve disputes involving multiple stakeholders, including handling cases filed with regulatory authorities and external parties
- Conduct legal research to support business initiatives, policy development, and informed decision-making
- Conduct training for stakeholders to implement legal and compliance best practices
- Either:
- 3+ years’ relevant experience as a paralegal / legal specialist OR
- 2+ years’ relevant experience as a practicing lawyer or in-house counsel
- Hands on experience in broad commercial law in-house or with a reputable law firm
- Demonstrated experience in drafting and reviewing commercial terms across a broad range of contracts
- E-commerce/internet industry experience is preferred but not a must
- Commercially astute, highly driven, and pragmatic with strong influencing expertise
- Strong interest in contracts and contract administration
- Good communication and interpersonal skills; organised and meticulous
- Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and under pressure
- Some experience in advising on data protection and corporate secretarial will be advantageous
