The opportunity
The Senior Service Engineer is a key technical specialist responsible for delivering high-quality service solutions to customers throughout the full lifecycle of installed systems and equipment. The role combines advanced technical expertise with strong customer focus to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of assets, while contributing to customer satisfaction.
The Senior Service Engineer operates with a high degree of autonomy, supports complex service activities, and acts as a technical reference for customers, colleagues, and cross-functional teams.
How you will make an impact
Perform advanced commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on complex systems and equipment.
Diagnose root causes of technical issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Execute service activities in compliance with technical standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
Act as a trusted technical interface for customers during service execution and after-service follow-up.
Support customer training, technical briefings, and on-site guidance when required.
Provide clear technical explanations, recommendations, and improvement proposals to customers.
Ensure service activities comply with all Health and Safety internal procedures, contractual requirements, and regulatory standards.
Provide technical input for service quotations, upgrades, and retrofit opportunities.
Coordinate with service coordinators, project managers, engineering, and supply chain to ensure efficient execution.
Act as the main point of contact for customers, maintaining strong relationships, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Your background
5–10 years of hands-on field service experience in industrial, electrical, automation, or power systems environments
Proven experience with complex installations, commissioning, troubleshooting, and lifecycle service activities
Background in customer-facing roles, working independently on-site and managing technical responsibility
Experience in service projects, outages, retrofits, upgrades, or system extensions is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of one or more of the following, depending on the business area: Automation and control systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA), Protection and control systems, communication networks
In depth knowledge of Substation Automation Systems such as MicroSCADA or similar will be beneficial.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, functional specifications and technical documentation
Willingness to travel frequently and work on customer sites, including occasional on-call or outage support
