The Role
As a Senior Underwriting Analyst, you will drive the profitability and growth of our warranty portfolio across several major accounts.
You will forecast and manage performance for both new and existing warranty lines spanning corporate and consumer products, directly influencing the organisation’s growth.
The role is accountable for:
- Supporting delivery of strategic Underwriting objectives within the FY27 OKRs
- Producing profitability and pricing projections for new and existing products, and providing rating and proposition rules to client‑facing teams
- Leading regular modelling and reporting of underwriting performance, recommending actions in response to emerging trends
- Contributing underwriting inputs to financial forecasts, including annual budgets and interim reforecasts
- Setting pricing structures that ensure products meet cost and margin targets through accurate costing and modelling
- Conducting advanced data analysis (SQL, Excel, Power BI) to identify trends and inform recommendations
- Ensuring compliance with data governance and quality standards
- Driving process improvements through automation and enhanced analytics
About You:
You will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in a commercially focused underwriting or analytical
- Numerate degree (UK 2:1 / US GPA 3.3+) or equivalent
- Strong grasp of financial modelling, forecasting, and pricing fundamentals
- Advanced analytical skills with large datasets, using Excel
- Understanding of extended warranty products (advantageous but not essential)
- Proficiency in data analysis/mining tools
- Experience with SQL, Jira, Power BI (preferred)
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
- Strong commercial acumen
- Effective stakeholder management and influencing skills
