Job Specific Working Conditions:
Plainfield YoungLives is looking for a part-time YoungLives Area Coordinator. Plainfield YoungLives has been in existence for nearly 20 years and has a strong presence in the local community. Plainfield YoungLives staff would work with other regional staff and be responsible for directly overseeing 1 existing Club with the hope of developing more branches of ministry, including Campaigners, and the possibility of launching an in-school club.
Responsibilities
Connect with and build relationships with teen mothers
Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers
Plan monthly team meetings, Clubs, and Bible Studies (Campaigners)
Go to camp with teen moms & their babies in the summer
Recruit and lead other committed adults who lend support for the work
Monthly meetings with YoungLives staff in the region
Raise financial support and care for current donors who support the work
Complete and manage the annual budget in conjunction with the Committee
Update ministry information in YL software
Establish and steward relationships with stakeholders in Plainfield High School and Project Teach Scotch Plains, as well as other agencies and schools that work with teen parents in the area.
Attend training on a 1-2x monthly basis with the Regional YLVS Coordinator for training, encouragement, and equipping.
Qualifications
College degree preferred
Commitment to a growing relationship with Christ
Active involvement in a local church
Ability to communicate Young Life’s mission and vision
Proven relational skills with both adolescents and adults
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Self-motivated
Willing and able to understand the unique issues teen mothers face
Goal-oriented
Proven leadership skills
Ability to travel as the job requires
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Salary based on education and experience
