This role is a hybrid work arrangement. Work schedule to be discussed with the Hiring Manager according to the guidelines defined by the department.

Your role

The Research Analyst will execute a variety of reporting and analysis based on  quantitative and qualitative media research data in support of audience growth for CBC English Services Entertainment, Factual and Sports, as well as demonstrating these findings for monetization for our Media Solutions team.  The successful candidate will be a key member of a team of research analysts assigned to these tasks. 

The role requires proficiency in digital audience measurement, as well as experience with reporting on key performance metrics and providing actionable insights. 

The focus of this role will be primarily to support these content areas through reporting on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis. 

Key Tasks:

  • Analyzes, manipulates and interprets data from a variety of sources including audience research and demographics data.

  • Compiles, reviews and interprets complex data from multiple sources in order to design and produce reports to meet specialized needs. 

  • Identifies trends and opportunities through research and analysis.

  • Shares results of analyses in fully documented form with graphs, charts and tables appropriate to the material and the intended audience.  Advises on the interpretation of the data including explanation of the terminology, clarification of the results and, if appropriate, positions the data with respect to relevant historical trends.

  • As required performs the following tasks:

    • monitor data sources to ensure integrity of data;

    • generate new methods of reporting existing data;

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following: 

  • Experience using digital metrics (Adobe & Amplitude) to track performance and highlight opportunities for user growth for content and revenue. 

  • Experience using Comscore to measure online competitive performance.

  • Established knowledge of the media environment and understanding of the technical aspects of audience measurement.

  • Advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills and experience with data visualization.

  • Familiarity with Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs).

  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to effectively work as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated independent judgment, initiative and problem solving capability.

This position will not be filled until consideration has been made by the CBC/CMG Local Joint Employment Committee.
