Job Summary
SummaryThe purpose of this PGY2 residency program is to provide residents the opportunity to build upon their Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency. Residents participate in numerous learning experiences, including providing patient care in various settings, completing a clinical research project, precepting pharmacy students and interns, and educating other disciplines.
Upon completion of this program, pharmacy residents will be well-prepared for clinical pharmacy practice and patient care.

Essential Functions
-Residents participate in numerous learning experiences, including providing patient care in various settings.
-Contributes to and participates in the department's medication use evaluation plan, including but not limited to Clinical Management Initiatives (CMI).
-Performs all duties associated with the Registered Pharmacist position within the scope of licensure.
-Initiates and documents pharmacist interventions to change prescribing where required.
-Reviews current medical/pharmacy literature regularly for recent developments in disease state therapeutics as well as new product development.
-Provides health professionals with drug information and/or references.
-Responsible for optimizing patient care by promoting rational, safe, and cost-effective drug therapy.

Doctor of Pharmacy Pharmacy required

Pharmacist [State License] - Generic - HR Only required
Experience
Pharmacy experience 1-2 years required and Experience with computer word processing 1-2 years required and Some experience with spreadsheets or databases and other computer software 2-3 years preferred

- Knowledge of pharmacy information systems, automated dispensing technology, and personal computers.
