Purpose of the Role:

MUFG is seeking a Vice President, Product Development to join their Transaction Banking Office for Asia, focusing on Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance. This regional role offers you the opportunity to become a pivotal member of a highly respected product team, supporting the Head of Department in shaping the future of trade and supply chain finance across APAC. As a subject matter expert, you will be at the forefront of developing and enhancing products that drive efficiency, mitigate risk, and strengthen MUFG’s market position.

• Play a key role in driving product innovation and operational excellence within one of Asia’s leading transaction banking teams, working closely with senior leaders across multiple regions.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert across Product Management with responsibility for the following product areas including Documentary Trade, Supply Chain Finance and; Proprietary and third-party trade platforms and technologies

What you'll do:

As Vice President, Product Development – Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance, your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with stakeholders from various departments to assess new opportunities, develop innovative solutions, and ensure seamless execution of product strategies. Your responsibilities will include:

• Support global and regional trade initiatives by providing expert guidance on product management strategies tailored to the needs of the APAC region.
• Lead comprehensive assessments for new products, variations, and bespoke deals for the Singapore branch by partnering with functional stakeholders at headquarters as well as regional and country teams.
• Develop detailed product structures and schematics that ensure robust frameworks for both proprietary and third-party trade platforms and technologies.
• Analyse end-to-end transactional workflows to identify opportunities for enhanced efficiency while proactively reducing operational risk throughout the process lifecycle.
• Ensure all aspects of product development strictly comply with relevant bank policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to maintain integrity and trust.
• Provide thought leadership by identifying emerging trends in trade finance and supply chain finance, driving new product capabilities that improve efficiency, generate revenue, and reinforce MUFG’s competitive market position.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including technology, operations, compliance, legal, and sales to deliver seamless product solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Prepare executive-level presentations using advanced PowerPoint skills to distil complex information into clear visual outputs for diverse audiences including senior management.
• Utilise advanced Excel proficiency to track performance metrics accurately through comprehensive MIS reporting and data analysis.
• Maintain high standards of organisation by managing multiple priorities efficiently within a fast-paced environment while consistently delivering quality results.

What you bring:

To excel, your proven experience should include deep familiarity with transaction banking products—particularly those related to trade finance and supply chain finance. Your academic background equips you with the theoretical understanding necessary for this multifaceted role. You bring hands-on expertise in utilising advanced Excel functions for performance tracking as well as crafting impactful presentations that resonate with senior stakeholders. Your approach is marked by meticulous organisation; you thrive when balancing several projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Analytical acumen allows you to interpret complex datasets into actionable insights that support strategic decisions

• A bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related discipline is required for this position as it provides essential foundational knowledge.
• At least 4–5 years of relevant experience in transaction banking with a focus on trade finance and supply chain finance is essential for success in this role.
• Previous Product Development focusing on Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel enables you to conduct detailed product performance reporting with accuracy and insight.
• Expertise in creating executive-level presentations using PowerPoint ensures complex information is communicated clearly through compelling visuals.
• A strong background in Management Information Systems (MIS) combined with data analysis skills allows you to track performance metrics effectively.
• Highly organised work habits empower you to manage multiple priorities efficiently within a dynamic environment without compromising quality.
• Excellent analytical capability supports your ability to distil complex data into clear written, verbal, and visual outputs suitable for diverse audiences.
