Job Description

Mujin is a global leader in industrial automation, redefining supply chain efficiency through MujinOS—our intelligent operating system for robotics. At our core is Machine Intelligence (MujinMI), a unique approach that leverages real-time digital twins and advanced perception, planning, and control algorithms to achieve fully autonomous operations.

Our flagship product, MujinController, empowers users with a highly configurable, no-code interface. By integrating cutting-edge motion planning and computer vision, it enables seamless automation for complex applications such as palletizing, picking, and truck unloading.

Headquartered in Japan with a growing presence in the US, China, and Europe, we invite you to join a dynamic environment where you can shape the future of automation.

We are seeking a Product Manager to define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the next-generation MujinController, driving innovation and commercialization in a rapidly growing market. This role is central to enhancing user experience, meeting market demands, and expanding our global impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic research into industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape in industrial automation and intelligent robotics to guide high-impact product decisions
  • Own end-to-end product lifecycle management, ensuring timely delivery, cost control, and alignment with strategic goals
  • Drive cross-functional program execution, coordinating between product, engineering, marketing, and operations to ensure delivery of complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
  • Establish and oversee program governance practices to ensure risk management, milestone tracking, and resource allocation across product initiatives
  • Portfolio Management: Direct oversight of the product portfolio, from inception to retirement, ensuring achievement of key business metrics including orders, revenue, and profitability
  • Translate business strategy into a differentiated offering and solution portfolio through market segmentation, customer insights, and innovation prioritization
  • Lead the definition and evolution of new product portfolios by conducting value analysis, defining roadmap strategy, and collaborating closely with R&D for execution
  • Conduct in-depth market analysis, tracking regulatory trends, customer requirements, and emerging technologies to shape product positioning and competitive advantage
  • Engage directly with customers to design and negotiate systems architecture, including network protocols, PLC integration, and project-specific interface requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in product management or product development, preferably in industrial automation, intelligent robotics, or similar domains
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, cross-functional programs with multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups
  • Strong command of agile methodologies and modern product delivery frameworks
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead through influence in a fast-paced environment

Required Technical Competencies:

  • Familiarity with robotics platforms, motion control systems, and embedded systems architectures
  • Hands-on experience collaborating with R&D/engineering on hardware-software co-development, technical specifications, and test plans
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear product requirements and business value propositions
  • Working knowledge of tools and platforms for agile product development and program tracking (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
  • Understanding of relevant international standards and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., IEC, ISO, UL, CE) in industrial products
  • Strong grasp of systems integration, including APIs, network architecture, and cybersecurity standards
  • Desired: Proficiency in data analytics and product telemetry—able to derive actionable insights from product usage and performance metrics
