AI Tech Associate - Milan | BCG Platinion
Job Description
At BCG Platinion, we close the gap between strategy and technology. We design and build AI tech strategies, AI solutions, and next-generation platform architectures that turn ambition into execution, turning buzzwords into a true business engine and real competitive advantage.
Working at the intersection of boardroom strategy and hands-on tech delivery, we help leading organizations tackle their toughest challenges, with access to C-suite leaders and the unmatched resources of BCG.
As an AI Tech Associate, you will be an active technical contributor within project teams, working under the guidance of senior AI Tech Architects. You will support the design and delivery of specific architectural components — from AI pipelines to governance mechanisms, from data integration to system testing — and will develop a progressive understanding of the overall solution vision.
The role requires the ability to apply technical fundamentals with rigour (hands-on implementation, testing, structured documentation) while progressively building the capacity to communicate with client-facing stakeholders.
You contribute to the implementation of AI-powered delivery pipelines, translating well-defined engineering tasks and architectural guidelines into working components under the guidance of senior team members
You support the design and testing of governance mechanisms for AI systems — including validation checks, traceability logging, and identity boundary configurations — developing hands-on familiarity with multi-layered trust architectures
You implement automated testing and evaluation routines for AI-generated outputs, run structured security and compliance checks, and flag deviations from architectural standards for senior review
You assist in capturing and structuring enterprise knowledge — documenting domain models, APIs, architecture decisions, and business rules — in formats that support machine-readable representation and autonomous development workflows
You support the integration of AI components into existing system landscapes, contributing to technical analysis, configuration, and delivery under defined architectural patterns, while actively building fluency in AI engineering tools and frameworks
You hold a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, AI Engineering, or a related field
You have 1-4 years of experience in software development or technical roles, with exposure to cloud, backend, or system integration contexts
You support the analysis and design of IT architectures, developing a working understanding of enterprise solutions, legacy systems, and emerging trends such as agentic AI, LLM orchestration, and AI-native architectures
You have foundational hands-on experience with AI systems, such as LLM-based applications, AI agents, or machine learning platforms, gained through academic projects, internships, or early professional experience
You are familiar with modern software delivery practices, including DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and platform engineering concepts
You are building familiarity with concepts like agent assembly lines, execution harnesses, and context engineering, and understand their relevance in secure and scalable enterprise contexts
You can translate well-defined technical requirements into architectural components and communicate clearly with technical team members and, progressively, with non-technical stakeholders
You thrive in interdisciplinary teams and global environments, and are flexible and willing to travel as needed
You are willing to travel to client sites in Italy and abroad (frequency varies by project)
You have strong written and verbal communication skills in both Italian and English (minimum B2, C1 preferred) — client-facing interaction is a core component of the role
We make sure you never stop growing. You'll tackle exciting, high-impact challenges every day, supported by a passionate team of talented colleagues who share your drive for excellence and keep connect long after your case wraps up. Our collaborative, open culture gives you the freedom to explore and perfect your strengths, backed by individual learning opportunities and recognized certifications.
At BCG Platinion, our people and relationships are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that in-person collaboration plays an essential role in our culture, mentorship, and professional development. That's why we generally operate on a hybrid model, with office presence shaped by business needs, team norms, and local policies and practices. We aim to provide a dynamic and collaborative environment that fosters connection and teamwork.
