Job Summary:
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining cleanliness of power equipment including: forklift, pallet jacks, sweeper, scrubber, tugger, reach trucks, wrap machines, dock lock, leveler, and clamp attachments.
- Perform preventative maintenance on power equipment.
- Perform general warehouse maintenance duties to maintain a safe and professional work environment both in and outside the warehouse, including assisting with equipment maintenance and minor building and equipment repairs.
- Possess a level of proficiency in all maintenance required programs including the recycling programs, lock out/tag out procedures and hazardous materials.
- Operate powered equipment including: forklift, pallet jack, tugger, clamp attachments and sweeper/scrubber.
- Read schematics
- Responsible for minor facility and equipment repairs
- Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to include nights, weekends, holidays and on-call requests.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience is a plus.
- Previous mechanical experience 1 to 2 years.
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to use email, word-processing, spreadsheets, WMS and other applications
- Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the member to include nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in warehouse environment which includes heat, cold, noise, dust
- Utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, etc.
Environmental Job Conditions:
- Independently lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionally
- Sit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environment
- Grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basis
- Endurance for continuous, fast paced work
- Fluctuating temperatures within the perishable DC including freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
- Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc)
- Products may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)
