Position Summary
Our Certified Nursing Assistant serves as support personnel following regulations for the practice of nursing assistants including assisting with patient admissions, patient procedures, care and maintenance of procedural instrumentation, discharging patients, chart preparation, medical records, assisting providers and other personnel as needed, and other collateral duties.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Pre-Op/PACU staff in planning, facilitating and evaluating surgical care to the patients.
- Demonstrates knowledge of medical record policy and procedure in management of patient information.
- Provide basic patient care activities under the direction of a licensed nurse.
- Collect and record vital signs, monitor patients, provide simple patient teaching and discharge instructions.
- Collect data and assist patients with activities before and/ or after their surgical procedure and document actions in the patient's chart.
- Insure cleanliness of the units, perform clerical duties and transport patients.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- One-year of CNA experience required
- Formal nurse’s aid or medical technician preferred
- Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of Certified Nurses Aid Program or Medical Assistant Certification
- BLS Certification
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
