Position Title: Inspector Location: NY Office Project Locations will include work at the 26th Ward, Coney Island, Jamaica, Owls Head and Rockaway WWRFs, including all associated pump stations and Combined Sewage Overflow ("CSO") facilities in their drainage areas (Field Office is in Brooklyn)
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $65-$70
Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Position Overview
Inspector is responsible for providing inspection services for multiple Wastewater Treatment Facilities including all associated pump stations and Combined Sewage Overflow ("CSO") facilities in their drainage areas.
Responsibilities:
- Inspection services for various NYCDEP Wastewater Treatment Plants that may include: Plumbing (Mechanical), General Construction (Structural), Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), and Electrical (including Instrumentation) trades.
- Perform daily on-site inspections of construction activities to ensure adherence to the project schedule, plans, specifications, and safety standards.
- Prepare and maintain daily construction inspection reports documenting work performed, contractor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified, observed issues, and contractor activities.
- Identify unsafe conditions, code violations, and site hazards; ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil preferred) from an accredited college.
- Minimum of 5 years of construction inspection experience on NYCDEP Wastewater Treatment Plants.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and maintain accurate records and documentation.
- OSHA Construction, 30-hour.
Technical Skills:
- Microsoft Office
- Adobe Acrobat
- MS Visio (preferred)
Soft Skills:
- Detailed oriented and reliable, while demonstrating a high-level of interpersonal, diplomacy, and organizational skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple team members.
