Personal Care Assistant/Medication Technician

Working part-time, 20 hours bi-weekly, every other weekend and holiday
- Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday 2:30 to 11:00 PM
- OR
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serves as liaison between families, nursing staff, Social Services and Life Enrichment in making sure residents’ needs are met.
- Assists with preparing and updating service plans.
- Assists residents with treatments as assigned.
- May serve as mentor for new aides in specific areas of job training.
- Provides hands-on care of residents as written on the Resident’s Service Plan and Support Plan.
- Observes and reports all pertinent information, including vital signs, abnormal conditions and changes from previous conditions to the Team Leader.
- Responds to resident call bells and alarms and supports the residents within their scope of practice.
- Keeps assignments, routines and support plans up-to-date.
- Assists residents with dining, tray delivery, and offers nourishments/liquids to residents at mealtime, between meals and when needed.
- Maintains resident rooms, support centers, and living rooms in a neat and orderly appearance.
- Uses equipment properly, keeping it clean and in the proper place.
- Maintains current Medication Technician certifications.
- Maintains current diabetic training.
- Maintains current CPR certification.
- Maintains First Aid Certification.
Personal Care Assistant Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have high school diploma or GED.
- Must have current Medication Technician certification.
- No previous experience required.
- Possesses good verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in use of computer and related technology required for the role.
