Job Description

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

 

The Technician has responsibility for the operation of the processing facility, allowing Customer supplied medical products to be received and processed in a timely manner at the STERIS Thorn facility. The Operations Dept should provide efficient and pro-active support to the site as part of a dedicated team and should embrace the brand values of STERIS AST. 

 

The Technicians are involved in the management of a process utilizing hazardous materials, and the role includes several safety-critical Forklift / Reach Truck driven tasks associated with the operation of safety-critical equipment and handling.

Working Pattern

 

  • 3 on - 3 off, 0600am - 1800 pm

What you will do

 

  • Operate Forklift to ensure all pallets within the warehouse are suitably handled. labelled and where applicable, quarantines in line with site procedures.
  • Monitor processes to ensure that products that are found to have damage or deviate from site requirements, are reported to the Quality Manager.
  • Record and monitor stock levels and request reorder when required.
  • Query resolution when operating the loading / unloading chambers.
  • Partner with other departments and teams across different shift patterns and support with root cause investigation & reporting
  • Ensure safety and standards are always maintained.
  • Maintain cleaning standards by following procedures and associated cleanliness forms are documented.
  • Support the team to improve the sites 5S Standards (Continuous Improvement).

Required Experience

 

  • Valid Forklift or Reach Truck Licence.
  • Can adapt to using user-friendly software packages.
  • Attention to detail & accuracy. 
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Background in Warehouse / Logistics / Foods or Highly Regulated sector would be beneficial.
