Job Description:
The Central EHS team ensures that Solar Turbines has a clear strategy for supporting our manufacturing operations projects, processes and compliance. This EHS Senior Professional will provide consultation for all facilities across the Division. This role will harness deep regulatory expertise, critical thinking and clear communications to develop and implement elements of our health & safety strategy.
What You Will Do:
- Provide support for the deployment of enterprise health and safety strategies across diverse operational environments. (Safety Driven)
- Lead and support projects related to regulatory compliance or improving facility processes and procedures. (e.g. High Energy Projects, SIF Prevention Activities, Learning Teams, etc.)
- Manage and support contractor safety programs including pre-qualification.
- Monitor and update safety performance metrics for trends and opportunities.
- Provide interpretations, recommendations and unique solutions for current and emerging regulatory topics that may impact our operations.
- Partner with Legal to manage regulatory interactions and engage with local industry professional associations/consultants on aspects of safety best practices.

- Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.
Top Candidates Will Have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in occupational health & safety or a science related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of overall professional experience, ideally associated with manufacturing operations.
- Deep understanding of federal, state, and local regulations (e.g. OSHA, PSM, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to interpret regulations and communicate complex requirements at all levels of the organization.
- Experience with Human & Organizational Performance (HOP) and operational learning techniques.
- A proven history of collaboration across multiple groups to achieve challenging objectives.
Additional Information:
- This position is based in San Diego, CA.
- Solar is in the office five days per week, with flexibility as needed. (on-site)
- Relocation is available for qualifying U.S. based candidates
- Some travel may be required (<25%)
Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
